Mathematical Device Dissection Lab

---A NSF-funded virtual laboratory containing online modules designed to let mathematics students dissect mathematical concepts and algorithms.
- Information Retrieval Module: introduces students to the field of information retrieval by teaching the vector space model and the latent semantic indexing methods; designed by Emmeline Douglas, CofC student;
- helpful prerequisites: calculus
- helpful corequisites: introductory linear algebra
- PageRank Module: introduces students to the field of web information retrieval by teaching the PageRank model of link analysis used by Google; designed by Clare Rodgers, CofC graduate
- helpful prerequisites: calculus
- helpful corequisites: introductory linear algebra
- Bible Code Module: discusses the pop culture phenomenon known as The Bible Code, the attempts to find hidden messages in the Bible. Teaches students about critical thinking skills and some statistical and probability concepts; designed by Emmeline Douglas, CofC student;
